Meet the Chef
Hi, I’m Summer and I am the founder of Toasted Sugar Artisan Bakery and Catering. I am a classically trained chef and sourdough baker with a passion for crafting delicious food, baked goods, and sourdough bread. I started Toasted Sugar with the goal to introduce people to the magic of regionally sourced, freshly-milled, organic, whole grain and ancient grain flours. Using these flours not only provides amazing flavor and texture to baked goods and breads, it also supports local farms and farmers. I love taking childhood favorites and elevating them by using the highest quality and locally-sourced ingredients, right down to the very grains that the flours are made from. I make all of my items by hand, the old-fashioned way, and you will definitely taste the difference!
